FAQ
-
MissPoppins is unique in that we focus exclusively on parenting and family coaching, rather than being a general coaching marketplace. This means the parents using MissPoppins are actively looking for family-related guidance, so you’re reaching a more relevant audience. It’s a platform built for coaches, by people who understand the parenting space, rather than a generic telehealth service.
-
Yes. You set your own pricing and packages, and you keep 100% of your session fees. MissPoppins does not take a cut from your earnings. We sustain the platform by adding a small overhead fee on the client side to cover operational costs, so your rates remain untouched.
-
Payments are processed through Stripe and transferred to your bank account on a bi-monthly schedule. Payouts occur on the 15th and 30th of each month for all sessions completed in the prior period. This ensures a reliable, twice-monthly income flow. (Note: Coaches must complete a one-time Stripe onboarding to securely link their bank account.)
-
Coaches are independent contractors, so you’re responsible for reporting your earnings and paying any applicable taxes. For U.S. coaches, MissPoppins provides a 1099-K form each year (for those meeting the IRS reporting threshold) to help with tax filing. Canadian coaches receive the local equivalent tax documentation. Be sure to consult a tax professional about any income tax, self-employment tax, or GST/HST obligations in your region.
-
Every coach on MissPoppins gets a personalized mini-website (profile page) within the app and website. Families can browse or search by specialty and find your profile, which showcases your bio, certifications, services, and packages. From there, parents can book sessions, pay securely, and even chat with you directly through our platform. Your profile isn’t buried in a generic marketplace – it’s presented in a way that highlights your expertise to parents who need it. You can also share your MissPoppins profile link with your own network or website for easy booking.
-
MissPoppins is a secure, encrypted coaching platform built with privacy in mind. We are not processing insurance claims or providing medical services, so traditional HIPAA compliance standards don’t directly apply to our platform. However, we prioritize client confidentiality and data security. If you are a coach in a field with specific privacy or record-keeping regulations, you should continue to follow those professional guidelines. Coaches can provide clients with superbills or documentation for reimbursement if needed, but it’s your responsibility to adhere to any compliance standards tied to your profession.
-
No. There isn’t a trial period for coach memberships. MissPoppins operates on a subscription model (see membership FAQ below), so once you subscribe, you get immediate access to your dashboard, scheduling tools, chat/video features, and visibility in our network. Because these benefits start right away, we do not offer a free trial. (However, you’re welcome to attend a demo call or explore informational resources before joining to ensure we’re the right fit.)
-
Membership fees are non-refundable, since you gain instant access to the platform’s tools, integrations, and visibility features upon subscribing. This means even if you decide to discontinue using MissPoppins before your plan is up, we generally do not issue refunds for the remaining term. That said, if there are platform-related issues or extenuating circumstances, we want to be fair – please reach out to us (email HR@MissPoppins.io) and we will work with you to find a resolution. Our goal is your success, and we’ll address any serious service problems on a case-by-case basis.
-
Yes. MissPoppins uses a membership subscription model for coaches (instead of taking a commission from sessions), please refer to misspoppins.io/coaches for the fee options. These plans grant you a platform license to use all of MissPoppins’s features: your coach profile site, scheduling calendar, video/chat system, payment processing, file sharing, and more. By charging a flat membership, MissPoppins enables you to keep 100% of your coaching earnings while covering its costs through the membership and a small client-side fee.
-
We welcome certified professionals and experienced providers across all areas of parenting and family support. If you are trained or certified in fields like fertility coaching, pregnancy/postpartum support, infant sleep consulting, child development, education, family therapy, or other parenting-related specialties, you could be a great fit. We do require that coaches have any necessary certifications for their field and jurisdiction. As part of our vetting, coaches go through an application process – you’ll submit your credentials and experience, and MissPoppins may perform reference or background checks to ensure a safe, high-quality network. Our community is for trusted, qualified experts dedicated to helping families thrive.
-
MissPoppins isn’t a lead-generation agency or marketplace that funnels clients to you. Think of us like Shopify for parenting coaches: you bring your expertise and your clients, and we give you the storefront, payment system, and growth tools to run your practice. That said, families can discover you through our ecosystem – your profile can appear in searches, categories, or through referrals on the platform. We provide visibility to an audience of parents seeking coaching, but we don’t actively assign or guarantee clients.
-
The process is straightforward:
Apply/Acceptance: First, fill out the coach application on our website (or attend an info session here). We’ll review your qualifications and experience. Once you’re accepted, you’ll move to onboarding.
Choose a Plan: Secure your spot by purchasing your chosen membership plan (6-month or annual) via our platform.
-
Absolutely. In fact, many coaches use MissPoppins as a convenient way to manage their existing client base. You can invite your current clients to book sessions with you through your MissPoppins profile. They’ll benefit from the easy scheduling, payment processing, and communication tools (and they don’t have to pay anything to create a client account). Bringing your clients onto the platform can simplify your workflow – all your appointments, notes, and messages are organized in one place. Plus, your clients might appreciate having a professional portal for their coaching sessions.
-
As an independent coach, you are responsible for complying with any professional insurance or liability requirements of your field. MissPoppins does not provide malpractice or liability insurance coverage for coaches. We strongly recommend that if your certification or profession requires you to carry liability insurance (or if it’s standard in your industry), you maintain an active policy independently. Additionally, ensure you practice within the scope of your training and follow any laws or regulations applicable to your profession. MissPoppins vets coaches for credentials but does not assume liability for the advice you give – ultimately, the coach-client relationship is between you and the family, so having your own protections in place is wise. Always check your local regulations and professional guidelines to make sure you have the proper coverage and licenses to coach legally and safely.
